Mai 1939 aus der I.\/KG 254 in Langendiebach, die\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(32, 33, 34); font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: start; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"\u003e III.\/KG 55 entstand am 1. April 1940 wurde die IV. Am 12. August 1944 wurde der letzte Einsatz an der Ostfront geflogen und das Geschwader verlegte zurück nach Deutschland. Ab September 1944 wurde es auf Jagdflugzeuge umgerüstet und unter der Bezeichnung KG (J) 55 eingesetzt. Am 8.
